The best definition of that concept I ever saw, was in one of the late Jeff McNelly's "Shoe" cartoon strips. Loon was delivering copies of the "Treetops Tattler" and comments to the Perfessor that this edition should be a real "Collectors Item".

Yes, you can't discount simple stupidity being a part of the equation, but if the terms of use define such an action to be fraud, then it is for that purpose.

Hmmm - not sure a private auction house can state criminal law. I am sure it violates their terms of service, but that cannot convert actions into crimes. I just got out of an airplane, so maybe later I will look it up. It is surely contract law.
