Pete, you're whoppin' again! You know I was only 7 or 8 when the Edsel came out. Me and my older brother always watched for them comin' up the hill past the house. I thought the Edsel was a really nice lookin' car. Two-tone paint in an assortment of beautiful colors, (I was partial to the orange and white and the sky blue and white two-tones), 410 cubic inches, Fordomatic pushbutton transmission with the push buttons mounted in the center of the steering wheel, and 18 feet and 2 1/2 tons of American made steel. Also liked those '58 Mercury Monterey's, you remember the ones where the rear windshield went down into the trunk.

And, while that is not my theme song, I am a dedicated Doo-Wopper! I'm listenin' right now, as I do every nite from 7:00pm 'til I go to bed, and all weekends.

Yes, you both bring up a good point, Highrailjon & Rogruth. Back in the fifties, when I was a youth, I do recall that the world gave a whole lot of attention to a good pair of legs. I believe they called them "gams" and good lookin' women were referred to as "Tomatoes" (pronounced "TamAtas") I don't see that so much anymore - full attention to beautiful legs. That's a loss. (Not to mention an overall well turned out pleasant shape.) So many of the young women nowadays look so anemic it's unappealing. Ya' need a good meal or two to turn out good looking legs like those pictured above; at least, more than just nibbling on the parsley at the side of the plate!

Nah. Just a Pennsylvanian from Pittsburgh who, likely, watched too many movies made in the 40's & 50's about WWII. Maybe a lot of the Gi's in those movies were supposed to be from NY/NJ (?) and I'm remembering their way of speaking about goils. Eh?

Since I was born in Mckeesport, PA, it does my heart good just to read the word, Beaver Valley. The whole Mon-Yough-Allegheny-Ohio River valleys area was wonderful to have as roots.
Concerning "younz," or "yunz," I used that until it was burned/ridiculed out of me at university. Now, I speakah da' propah Englishee, bestiz I can.
