Yup, had a fantastic time. Beautiful ceremony, great company, awesome food that kept multiplying like the wedding feast at Cana, and me and Leah scored a table exactly halfway between the food and the bar. 
Here's my daughter midway through the reception. Looks to me like she's 'channeling' our hobo Daisy! 
I even got a shot of "Pretty Ladies With Trains"...
Seems the wedding generated a lot of questions in Leah's young mind, and we had quite the father-daughter talk on the ride home about d*mn near everything about relationships: biology, hormonal urges, natural selection, genetics, how can you tell when a boy loves you, media misrepresentations about desirable women and men, men's preoccupation with breasts and butts, and some pretty graphic questions about sex. You name it, we went there.
Upshot is, I think I have her prepared for a boyfriend...
One more story. Leah was off running around raising hell with Tori. Hev had come over and was shootin' the sh*t with me for a few, when an old Amishman named Jonas wandered over to the bar, and got himself a beer. Hev pointed that out to me, and told me about a time when Jonas was a near neighbor to Hev. Said Jonas got himself pretty egregiously drunk one day, and Hev was watching Jonas trying to safely 'negotiate' walking down a sidewalk, when he walked smack into a telephone pole. Hev said that Jonas backed up a half step, looked up, tipped his hat, and continued on his way! LMFAO!!!
Well, Jonas happened to bring his beer over to our table and sat down, and was talking with us. Hev then got up and moseyed off to go schmooze some more ladies somewhere, but me and Jonas got to talking some more.
He told me that his kidneys had failed, and that he was on dialysis.
For you non-medical folks, dialysis is a 4-odd hour process where you are hooked to a filtering machine, (that removes blood and replaces it through a shunt), that removes the fluid that is normally excreted on a regular basis in pee, but also the toxins that are normally contained in urine. Your kidneys are the only exit from the body for excess fluid intake, and it is the kidneys that keep the balance between too much fluid and dehydration. In between sessions, any fluid that a person consumes is retained within the body, usually accumulating as general edema, but which can cause other problems as well, as when it might accumulate in the lungs or around the heart. Because of this, dialysis is done three times a week, but moreover, a person with kidney failure has to carefully moderate his fluid intake, lest he run into serious complications. The 'tale is told' when a simple weight is obtained before any session, where a person in kidney failure can easily gain 20 pounds in water-weight between treatments.
So here was Jonas the Amishman, God bless him, enjoying a simple beer at a table with a hobo he just met, taking long thoughtful pulls until it was gone. I never saw a man look so wistfully at his beer, until he looked at me after he put his glass down empty, and told me that that was the first beer he has had in four years.
So I'd like to take a moment and raise a Jungle toast to Jonas, the beer-drinking Amishman. May you live long and prosper, buddy! You're a hobo with the best of them!
BTW, I couldn't help but notice that where Jonas was sitting, he was halfway across the room and out of line-of-sight from his wife!! LOL LOL!
Some things, brothers, are universal to all us men!
Me and Leah cut out without cermony, for which I'll have to apologize to the big guy. Had we not, he would have insisted we stay, which we could not, but I would not have been able to resist. Kids and duty beckoned at home, and I was already so 'sick' that I was unable to go to work that day!
But despite our cheap trick, huge and grateful thanks to Hev and Patty for inviting us into their family and sharing their good times, food, and drink, with the Dirt and his daughter. Love you folks beyond all recognition!
One last thing... as always, I dearly love the drive through Amish country. There's some serious farming going on down there. Me and Leah took a few minutes to drive into the New Holland manufacturing compound, acres and acres of tractors, balers, rakes, you name it, all a beautiful fire-engine red. Spotless farms, cows, horses, sheep, even a few buffalo, Gorgeous smells, of leaves and dirt, wood smoke and livestock and manure, pumpkins and mums and gourds and apples at every roadside stand, horses and buggies clopping and clattering, Fall color just taking hold, seas of field corn drying on the stalk, tractors everywhere.
Now, I complain about my Farmall only having twenty horsepower. Guess it's all a matter of perspective. Here's a picture of a farmer turning over his last cut of hay, poor bast*rd has to use a tractor that only has two horsepower.
Enjoy.
