Coco the Clown, Iona Rann's only female clown, has finally been released by the police authorities in Muff. They say that they are actually seeking some other clown who has been stealing watches time-and-time again from the village's B&Bs. Coco, who rarely comes into Muff, was only helping the village's "Keep Our Streets Clean" Campaign when she was arrested (pictured) on the word of some petty snitch. She believes that more sinister powers are behind the highly publicized and embarrassing detention which saw her languishing for a period in Muff's dank and fetid prison. She believes that gender discrimination is at play as she is the only female clown in Donegal and she has courted controversy during her "Keep Our Streets Clean" Campaign. "Why would I want to steal a flipping watch from some oul biddy in a B&B?" she opined at her arraignment. Nevertheless, she had her bail denied.
It was only when the "Coco is Clean" Campaign began to grow within the island's gay community that her plight made national news headlines. Only then was her case reviewed and fast-tracked. Today, after over a fortnight behind bars, she was finally released.
Addressing hundreds of her supporters outside the courthouse, Coco showed that she would not allow snivelling prison authorities dampen her humour or hamper her life's work. "I would've thought that whine-ins owned the biggest clown house in Iona Rann, until I had to sit through that joke" she laughed, pointing at Muff's Petty Sessions.
I guess long gone are the days of "Free Willie"!!!!!!![]()
