Tramp, November of 2000?
Bingo, Jon! Thanksgiving eve, to be exact. A toast to tramp, who began a thread that, in various incarnations, has now run 7 YEARS and one day, continuously!
Well, Hev was supposed to get his catheter out today, and his nurse this shift was supposed to be Ms. Cornfed, RN, so if it's her who's gonna be doing the yankin', we oughta have another good story tonight!
Patty said he's been itchin' (and bitchin') for, (in no particular order), some decent food, (and more of it), to get the hell out of his bed so he can do some walking, getting the hell out of the hospital, and his tin cup with a shot of Captain.
Word is he'll be getting back to us Sunday. That's Patty's story. Hev says "Saturday". LOL

We had an especially elated holiday because our cat was missing for a week and we'd just accepted that he must've been gotten by a coyote which is a horrible vision to keep running through your mind, and we were really so sad but then he showed up Thanksgiving morning!
So the trains go up very soon and we DO get to see how he does with the things

I can hear you about the coyote's. I just consider them animal control since our cat population can peak pretty high when people just droop them off. Now remember my PET feeding bill is around $50 a week, that is just for cats and a dog.
However I have a few favorite cats that I just love. Unfortunately my daughters favorite cat decided to play in the grass when I was haying last year. I couldn't believe it sat still until it was too late and I never saw it until the mower made a noise. That was hard to take since it was my daughters favorite cat. I never did tell her what happened, I just never knew what to say when she noticed it was missing.
In any event I know what is for dinner again, TURKEY.
Now how does one get tossed for writing one sentence?

Here's part of the story (This is from our local newspaper and must be the reason that the thieves decided to release him):
Mifune, a certified Maine coon cat named for a Japanese actor, lived in the historic Axel Hayford house with Tramp and Daisy. He had free rein of both the house and the neighborhood, exiting and returning through cat doors he mastered quickly.
The gregarious cat was always waiting for Tramp when he came downstairs in the morning, except on Saturday. Tramp called for him, but got no answer. He repeated the calling every couple of hours, again with no success.
Tramp contacted the police, printed up flyers and distributed them in the neighborhood, checked with fellow cat owners in nearby homes. He made, he said, a tragic discovery.
A next-door neighbor had a disappeared cat; another had a large black cat that returned home with its hind legs damaged, as if it had been attacked. Two cats, so skittish they wouldn't go near people, disappeared from a nearby apartment.
Tramp called veterinarians and the city's animal control officer, Steve Boguen, but Mifune had vanished. Boguen said he has no idea what happened to Mifune, but suggested theft and predators are possibilities.
Boguen is aware that coyotes patrol the city, and said an eagle was known to carry cats away recently. “I'll repeat what I always say: If you have a cat as a pet, make it an indoor cat,” he said. Both predators and disease lurk outdoors, he said.
Meanwhile, Tramp and Daisy are grieving for the loss of their pet. “If it's true that Mifune was taken by a coyote,” Tramp said, “then pet owners will want to know that's possible.”
But the amazing story is the one about the hobo cat. Maybe D will tell it.

Nice fly-over today. Glad to be home to enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend. A glowing moon on a crisp night down south with rains due by tomorrow. Cold IPA's and a few glasses of Pinot Noir (french for pine snot?) Had a great talk with Hev this afternoon. He says HI to all and things are looking good for an early parole on Sunday. T&D, beautiful cat, glad it's back home safe and sound.
