That is a 396 Chevy BB engine.

The owner did a pretty good job of placing the engine in the same location as the 10 HP Kohler it replaces, don't you think?

It is used for Garden Tractor Unlimited Class Pulling contests.

Just finished grilling some fake andouille sausage, washing it down w/ some Ravat home brew. The Ravat grapes were official Finger Lakes NYS. Just finished the salads and a turkey is in the oven for Greg's graduation party tomorrow. Cooking is just about done. As of 6:55 pm life is good!

Dirt, where is that M-60? Almost looks like Raystown, or the Huntington area in the background.

Was down in Meyersdale today, (with the camera stashed in the back of the Jeep, out of reach) and saw a GP-15 in the consist of an eastbound "junk" train. Not a GP-15T, but an old Conrail GP15 painted in the new CSX scheme. Another possable from Atlas.....

Speaking of mowers and tractors, seems last week, Old John decided he didn't want to mow any more. The far left hand mower blade broke loose from the deck, and made a nice, big, ragged hole in said deck. So, after visiting a friend, she said, "take my ex's old riding mower, I don't want it."

I priced a new bare deck stamping from JD. Bout s#it myself when the parts counter woman said "they are $1100 plus shipping!"

So, Old John (a '79 317) is now just a prime mover for the various trailers around Casa de Bob, and I'm "riding" the world's ugliest mower, a late 80's Sears 8 hp rider. I look like a monkey fu{#ing a football on that damn thing!

I also picked up some ammo for the 4th shoot, 500 rounds of .22 for paper punching! The better half picked up a holster for her .22 WMR Smith, and I drooled over a Ruger semi target pistol. Now there is one sweet shooting iron!
