Interesting that you are calling Clarence Thomas a RACIST......I wonder if his wife feels the same way since she is white.

Okay now you can do some more hokey pokey

He supports racist positions. The fact that he's black doesn't mean he cannot be a racist. There are women who are misogynists and believe women are not entitled to equal protection under the law and are inferior to men. It's a position, not a skin color or gender. It's not rocket science.

Reading comprehension much? :)

He supports legal positions and laws that particularly harm black people, who have experienced 400 years of mistreatment and prejudice in our society. That makes him a racist.

Can you expand on that. What legal positions and laws does he support that particularly harm black people

He believes that segregation is good and the government should not be allowed to have policies that attempt to redress the harm done by racism. He opposes any sort of diversity policies as unconstitutional, including any sort of affirmative action. This is despite the fact that he was a beneficiary of affirmative action on the parts of the College of the Holy Cross and Yale University Law School. He basically does not trust any white citizen to have a good heart when it comes to the fate of black people. He is a bitter, cynical man who sees black people as having to fight racism without government help, that the civil rights movement is a complete failure and that white people are uniformly racist. I would say that overall his reluctance to give any support to government programs that intend to redress the evils of slavery and prejudice and his hostility to both black civil rights activists and white people in general is racist.

I think the black community in general is very ambivalent about Thomas. They are proud of his achievements as only the second black person to serve on the Supreme Court, but do not agree with many of his racially harmful positions (redress of grievances and prejudice against black persons). I think that is why you don't see BLM activists specifically addressing his role in harming the black community through both legislative negation and his segregationist and racist views. In general, the Supreme Court is not what stands between black folk and true equality of opportunity in this country. It's mostly legislation and boots on the ground racism, particularly the latter in my personal experience. All of us white folk, no matter how well intentioned, are somewhat tainted by hundreds of years of racist culture and thinking. It is only now that we are removing monuments to traitors and racists, renaming both government and private institutions to get rid of the names of malignant racists like John Calhoun (former Vice President) and relatively more benign racists like Robert E. Lee.

As for the Harry Hieke thing and the OG Forum, it's tribalism. The OGF, like the MTJ, formed amongst those who didn't like or were banned from the OGR Forum. Like here, there's lots of bad karma, bitterness, whining and special pleading. The ostensible leader of the OGR, Brian Vaill, has some big chips on his shoulders and these come through when someone crosses him, as Harry apparently did, intentionally or not. Like most of us, he has feet of clay but pretends to be the reincarnation of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Babe Ruth. :) My experience with Mr. Muffin (Steve Nelson), Harry Hieke, or those of people I know is uniformly fair and reasonable, so I think Brian needs to take some humility pills and restrain his self-justifying rants from time to time. More chill, less ill will.

Do other races need to abide by these laws? Please give an example.

Clarence Thomas would disagree with laws promoting integration and diversity in schools and job decisions. He would oppose affirmative action laws that allow consideration of race, religion, etc. in admission to college for groups that have been universally harmed, such as blacks, Native Americans, Pacific Islanders, etc. He believes in segregation and that discriminated minorities should have to succeed without any protection from the law. Unlike himself, who benefited from such laws. So all groups that have traditionally been harmed by social and cultural prejudices would be harmed by the triumph of his ideas, including women.

We could change universities applying process. Everybody can usr a number instead of their name, nationality and race. Simply submit your grades and statement as to why you want to attend. No mention ad to where you live or what high school you went to. Just grades. You can log onto a website and see if your number was chosen by a school.
I don’t know what can be done to help native Americans. I have visited 3 “ Indian reservations” in my life. They are some of the saddest places i every went to. We have screwed them to the brink of stupidity. Fueled by alcoholism and no hope.

Imagine if an NBA team had to use a vertical challenged guy. It’s not fair that they only draft a 6.6 and above.

Ketanji Brown Jackson is our new Supreme Court Justice.

When Marsha Blackburn asked Ketanji Brown Jackson to define "woman," she said "I'm not a biologist."

experts say Jackson's answer was scientifically sound.
There is no sufficient way to clearly define what makes someone a woman.

Since Neil is a Doctor and expert man of science maybe he can define what a woman is. But if he can't define what a woman is the maybe he is wrong about Clarence Thomas being harmful to women Because we don't know what a woman is.

I have noticed that recently progressive liberal democrats now refer to a mother as a birthing person

I kind of line up with, and admire, Neil. I have discovered lately that underneath the vitriol, some of the majority voices here are actually nice folks who probably do not read The New Republic or the New York Times.

Being in aviation, I am surrounded by folks who think Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, and the gang are the best and brightest, and are doing what is required to make this work. They admire the Trumps, Mike Flynn, Sidney, and the rest of them. They do not realize that general aviation is more of a socialist plot than Obamacare.

Still they are nice folks, easy to get along with, and while ready to shoot liberals at the first hint of revolution, they would protect me with their life.

But their mind is made up.

Unlike here, the admirers of Clarence and Donald are a serious minority among the voting population. We may yet avoid the autocratic state, but there is a distict possibility that the idea of "one person, one vote" will soon be a thing of the past, and the majority here will get their wishes granted.

Neil, give it up. You are a very lonely voice here, and you are never going to effect change in this group. I don't know what will save us - we may well be doomed in November and henceforth. They will still pay MDs enough to buy gasoline, and I am coasting through my ninth decade with practically free tiedown and access to runways, as well as access to essential healthcare. That will change only slowly if we implement the Viktor Orban style of government. We have been privileged.
