Beautiful layout, nice prototypic all steam roster, 98% period matched cars, really nice scenery, great room too.
Layout provides a mix of operating opportunities while supporting continous running, which some like though others don't, but I do.
That said I didn't see anything but a lot of continous running, nevertheless very cool looking and well done.
Thanks for the heads up, enjoyed this a lot.

I enjoyed it also, very nice and professionally done in a great setting.

Is Wayne a member here, anyone know?

Bright clean and shiny, not what you’d expect on a railroad but still captivating. Nicely done!

Thanks for sharing. I unfortunately had never heard of Wayne Kimbrough before this posting.

I did a quick google search and saw this layout was posted elsewhere...on a forum I had never heard of:
https://modelrailroadforums.com/forum/i ... oad.29069/

There are a lot more details there. I'll copy some over below incase that forum ever ceases to exist.

The most important detail is that unfortunately Wayne passed away sometime around or before 1/6/2022. While the layout has some prototypical inaccuracies related to rolling stock, its very impressive overall and he has some steam I've rarely ever seen displayed, even in HO.

Details from his son from the link above:

Just a few facts about the layout:
Layout designed by Wayne Kimbrough(my father) & A. Louis Ertz
Rheostat control panel built by A. Louis Ertz and GML Handthrottle
Layout is in the shape of a folded dog bone
100' long x 24' wide(at its widest)
72" minimum turn radius
522' mainline 5 +/- scale miles
Micro Engineering Nickel Silver Flex Track from House of Duddy
50 total turnouts
All turnouts are hand laid
10 total locomotives-all locomotives built by Precision Scale, Overland or Sunset Models most have custom parts in order to match unique SRR locomotives. Many have Rod Miller gearboxes.
5- 2-8-2 Mikados 3 Heavy 2 Light
2- 4-8-2 Mountains
2- 2-10-2 USRA Light
1- 4-6-2 Pacific
13 heavyweight passenger cars
100 +/- freight cars
5 stall Roundhouse
Manual crank turn turntable
Handspread ballast

"This is my dad's O Scale layout located in Russellville, Alabama. He has been a train enthusiast since he was a child and got into model railroading as a young man. The layout is located in the entire second floor of my parents house. ...he began building it in 1996 but i do realize how much work he put into it and know how impressive it is in person. He actually began building the layout as soon as they got the roof and walls on the house before we even moved in. He was constantly working on it from 96 until around 03 when he started having problems with his eyes and got a little burned out in my opinion. He will be the first to tell you it's not near finished and there is a lot of scenery left to do." - Wayne's son Sam
