Re: Seen in Print
Agreed!
However, I would only add that the turtle's eyes would be warmer, far less empty, and more sincere, in my estimation.

Re: Seen in Print
I could apply those same sentiments to a host of members of Congress. It's hardly a new or even recent phenomenon.
Do not wait to strike till the iron is hot; but make it hot by striking.
Re: Seen in Print
Actually, I think AOC and a few other of her radical female cronies are a new style of evil to invade congress. Agreed, Congress has always been filled with liars, cheaters and opportunist all wishing to put their needs ahead of the populace. But, these new elected officials, like AOC, are much more dangerous to our way of life....the old school was in it for money and power....AOC and her associates are in it to drastically change the American way of living and I believe they are clueless as to what this "changed" country will actually be. Change for the sake of change is not a good path....you must know what you're doing.
Something happened to this country at the beginning of the 21st century (besides 9-11) that started us down the path we're on now. It's like someone flipped a light switch and we went from the fast paced 90's to Dante's Inferno. Everything just seems to be coming off the rails and at a faster pace year after year. Just my $.02.

Interesting comment, UP148.
In the Bible are similar statements.
Deuteronomy 32:5
They are the ones who have acted corruptly.
They are not God's children, the defect is their own.
They are a crooked and twisted generation!
John 5:19
19 We know that we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.
2 Timothy 3:1-5
3 But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having an appearance of godliness but proving false to its power; and from these turn away.

Re: Seen in Print
Truth be told, I don't know one fact about her at all. I have only seen quicky clips of her on TV News pieces, which means I know less than nothing about her, other than my own pitiful less than amateurish , grossly subjective, caustic interpretation of her gaze.
Sometimes , I need to learn to keep my vacuous snotty comments inside myself.
She has a whole constituency that has elected her, and I'd imagine they have a viewpoint of her which is actually worth hearing or reading, unlike my twaddle.

Got an equal number of radicals on the other side of the fence that are far, far more dangerous to our country.

For all those that wonder how she got to congress -- yup, people voted for her.

Re: Seen in Print
I am just a poor boy
Though my story's seldom told
I have squandered my resistance
For a pocket full of mumbles
Such are promises
All lies and jests
Still a man hears what he wants to hear
And disregards the rest
Once I built a railroad, I made it run,
Made it race against time.
Once I built a railroad, now it's done --
Brother, can you spare a dime?

Got an equal number of radicals on the other side of the fence that are far, far more dangerous to our country. I'm not really talking politics here, even if AOC was on the other side of the aisle her thinking would scare me. So, lets not drift and make this political.Something happened to this country at the beginning of the 21st century (besides 9-11) that started us down the path we're on now. I often wondered what my parents felt during the 60's while my siblings and I were coming of age. They must have been more liberal than I remember or clueless, not sure which. They never complained about the changes to my memory and they just seem to accept what I see as radical change from the 50's.
But, again, they had the old school politicians and a feeling the government was in control, something we don't have today, even though the world was rapidly changing around them, including the cold war. But, they had workers who many/most still thought a job was something you took pride in and you did it to the best of your ability, as that was/appeared to be the American way and was how you got ahead. We had people who believed in God and religion wasn't something to snicker at, strangers held doors open and most everyone greeted each (other even strangers) with a "good morning" or even a nod of the head......things we seldom see today. We've become so impersonal today with cell phones it is just disgusting.
ROBERT YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD. THE INFORMATION HIGHWAY IS THE HIGHWAY TO HELL IMHO. SURE IT HAS HAD MANY POSITIVE ATTRIBUTES, BUT IT HAS ALSO ALLOWED FRINGE GROUPS (PORNOGRAPHY, ATHEISTS, CHEATERS, LIARS, CROOKS OF ALL PERSUASION, ORGANIZED CRIME AND WORSE) TO BECOME FRONT AND CENTER AND MORE ACCEPTABLE.
There is way more to all of this, but we all see the changes and breakdown of society and the family.
