When I was a kid, we were sure they were everywhere. They were even a game with Kootie parts. Wouldn't surprise me if their footprints looked just like that, which could be evidenced anywhere.

Clue 2: This should help to identify this poisonous creature with circles like aircraft (or ship) windows.

It's an eastern newt. While the skin does contain trace amounts of the same toxin found in puffer fish humans don't consume eastern newts in whole or in part.

Re the similarities in appearance to the plane that's quite a stretch. The planes windows do not have black rings around them or yellow or brighter orange centers. From some angles, close up, you can see the seals between the inner and outer panes and it happens to be a dark (probably silicone) gasket.

Airplane and newt both have circles along the fuselage in addition to having bright colors.

There are no negative affects of eastern newts on humans. Their skin is toxic, so they should never be eaten or handled with broken skin, but they are not very toxic to humans. I handled the one in the picture, so I can attest to animal being harmless. I guess the toxin need to be concentrated before I put it on my poison darts.
