I didn't -- SMR did.
And a handsome look it is!

Do not wait to strike till the iron is hot; but make it hot by striking.

CVRR had some class D7 engines but converting one of these SMR engines seemed almost foolish to even attempt. I've left this one alone.
Sometimes you just gotta go for the gusto!
Re: PRR Locomotives
Second that, and only opinion the gusto is saving yourself the tedium of fabricating/building-painting-lighting-finishing (depending on what you started with) such a small locomotive. Yeah, knowing your preferences that one was a complete no-brainer.

Re: PRR Locomotives
Thanks Corey - I always enjoy seeing Icken's work. I will have to upload my only Icken locomotive - a PRR O1a.
This is an MTH P5a, converted. "They" say the bodies are subject to zinc pest, so I suppose this one will have longevity problems. So far so good. Its major flaw right now is that those screens are inset so far - I could probably cure that with some patience and brass screen?

Never really cared for this paint job, but I know how to fix it.

MG/Toby PRR D16sb. Hand lettered, and hand applied tender, driver spokes, pony truck wheel stripes. Still have no idea how they did it, so cleanly done are those circles.

Re: PRR Locomotives
That really does look good. I have had some luck with paint pens and rotating by hand.
Re: PRR Locomotives
mmm... not like that Bob, nevertheless very nice!
Bob , if you want to "clean up" that MTH P5a to your liking let me know.

Re: PRR Locomotives
That one would be easy - a shot of DGLE, a decal on each side, and light weathering.
But since you offered, I do have a GP7 that awaits redecoration. Maroon provided it (I may never catch up withhim) and suggested you as painter, for a two-tone T&P scheme. I sorta wanted purple and silver ACL, but I am not getting to it.

MG PRR E6s, with modified high side tender. Freshly shopped back in 2018.

See? I knew there were some enthusiastic SPFs around here! Really nice!
Re: PRR Locomotives
Yes! Beautiful but the tender needs some coal.
