I like this particular model. They typically get bid up to around $50. I think I splurged last year and got one for $25. The shorter All Nation often brings $25.

It should only be of concern for the amount of time it takes you to hit your "back" symbol.

Oh, I like the model. Six wheel trucks better than four wheel trucks. But if I'm gonna do it, 4 four wheel trucks.

But what's he thinking on price, I wonder.

We have a reverse auction in progress. 25% mark down! If he does it 2 or 3 more times, it might approach a reasonable amount.

Like Department Stores. Raise all the prices 15% one week, next week mark it all down 10%.

I would rather wait and find one already built-up for far less than the one in the auction. I think that the most that I ever paid was around $60.00 at a show, it was a masterly built one with added details, KD couplers, and much better trucks than the Walthers ones. I also like the All Nation one that is made for two-axle trucks. I must like them, I have more than two dozen depressed-center flats of many flavors. Including a stock Lionel four-truck one with a transformer load. It was something that I always wanted as a kid but my parents could never afford.

I am like Dave Bach, above. I have two Walthers, maybe six All Nations, and one brass 12 axle freelance. Oh, and one made from walnut to hold my brother's operable live steam feedwater pump. $25 would be my personal max, and shipping ought to be ten bucks. That is with trucks and couplers. I am beginning to sound like Dave Scale Craft?

I think the issue is WE know from experience about value. These opportunistic sellers may actually know, but push the boundaries out past Saturn's orbit, hoping some clueless newbie will jump on it.
I have a stack of 4-wheel flats, I dunno, six? Seven? Different boxes. One had no trucks, has 3-rail trucks under it and a bulldozer on top of it now.
Total expenditure for the batch to obtain them....zero.

So sell them off and go get something that you actually want and will use that takes up no more space than you are gaining with their departure,
Your death will come on an ordinary day, in the middle of unfinished plans, and world will continue on without you.

If you cheered them up a bit, maybe they wouldn't be depressed.

Bourbon. Get some of those small bottles they use in airline service and strap them down. They won't care after a while.
