If you choose that to be so, it is for you.

Just going by what the person who wrote the song said about the words. Anyone can turn the lyrics into their own fantasy.

Often I don't really hear words, just sounds. I even like some country and rock. I don't think I like rap or hip-hop. I don't even know if hip-hop is still around. Of course it makes no difference to anyone what I like.

The same here. Well, except for rap and hip-hop; I cannot stand at all.

Most of the "classical music" that interests me to a point of actually owning a copy on CD was written in the 20th century, but I'll listen to most anything that seems to fall under that genre label.

Opera is a stretch at times; got to be in the right mood and that's rare. Grew listening every Sat. to the Texaco opera broadcast in the workshop. Some 20th century is very interesting and then some is best for setting records for emptying houses - thin 12-tone atonal German opera.....

My Freshman year at college, my Humanities Music class was a rebirth for me. Those music classes (I took and extra semester, as an elective, also, in addition to the required class) were nothing short of that for me in my reaction and perception of the truth available in them. Those classes were the first time I ever heard, or even knew existed, the following requisites in the class:
Rachmaninoff, Piano Concerto #2
Bach Toccata and Fugue in D Minor
Swan Lake
1812Overture
Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini
Carmina Burana

Frankly, I was overwhelmed. And that music has never left me.

I was additionally blessed with my music professor being a concert pianist. He gave me carte blanche to enter his studio any time I heard him practicing, so I could watch him in-person and hear his truth.

And this comes from a kid whose biggest experiences at music and/or at concerts was hearing Frankie Avalon and Fabian sing at Kennywood Amusement Park during summer "concerts." Let's just say, college opened a whole new world of truth for me, just like it is supposed to do, and man-o-man, I was wide open..

Then, later, during my undergraduate days, when The Beatles first disembarked from their plane in the USA, I was able to enjoy their music, too, of course; different music with different truths and moments.

Harvey's Donuts and Brains, 3501 Choteau Ave & Carr Lane Ave, St Louis, Missouri

Jack Klobnak writes in: "I took this pix in the 1970's. It is on Choteau Ave. in St. Louis, which was famous in the early 20th Century for Brain Sandwiches (use a lot of mustard). It was not uncommon for dolts to be told to take a quarter down to Choteau to get some brains.

The sidewalk with storm drain and manhole cover are still there.

Well, the storm drain and manhole cover are still there. That sidewalk looks to have been replaced, grade changed, and a hydrant added.

Things do change...... :?
