I see TrainZ always rates their stuff a minimum of 6, very good condition and then go on to say it’s paint Is scratched, "trim" pieces might and are missing and it could do with a "gentle washing"! Huh? I get a big kick of their descriptions of POS's as very good with a rating of..........6! Out of 10 how could that be very good?! Sounds like all the BS with posted car mileage!

I have actually gotten a decent item or two from them in the past, but it seems their starting prices lean toward the high side these days, and I really give stuff the "hairy" eyeball before I pull the trigger. Bottom line you better know what you are bidding on or you may end up with a Heisler?????

@E7.......I once snagged a NJCB Little River 2-4-4-2 from them for just over 300 bucks. It had a basic paint job and needed a little work on the drive line. Here is is after some update mods, new headlights, stack and oil conversion and the paint freshened.

They used to "give" their stuff away and now seem to think everything is gold!

Probably because:

Single worm drive per truck, one chain missing on right truck, all three on left truck. Three axles powered out of 8.

They quickly sold some interesting 2-rail stuff today. Can any of you identify this C&O Turbine?
Ebay #333596563294 - Brass and Metal O Scale Chesapeake and Ohio M-1Steam Turbine Engine and Tender
is it a kit?

Somebody snagged this GP20 while I was looking at it: Ebay #293576917502, O Scale BRASS Penn Central Diesel Locomotive #2103 2-Rail EX

There was a guy in the Cleveland area some years ago (maybe 40 or so) that built several of these, more than a dozen, I believe. I had one of these that I got in a trade for a Westside B&O EM-1. They use a CLW drive and ran quite well; I ran mine at Weaver's home layout after a visit to his facility. The only drawback was the long, almost rigid wheelbase when approaching or leaving a grade change. I remember meeting him at the Hershey O scale show and he had one on display that he built for himself; it had as much of the internal piping as was possible to model in O.

They often don't know what they have when they're selling 2-rail O.

Here's an example from today, a powered doodlebug that sold for $81.99 buy-it-now; they had listed it as "Custom O Scale New York Central RPO Passenger Car".

To you, yes. To someone else it's worth $81.99

Yes, we can.

Conventional Wisdom always seemed to indicate the item in question, whatever it is, it worth exactly what someone will pay for it.
Seems reasonable, right?

Now that we have had a glimpse into the chasm that is the Apocalypse, the corollary seems to be, it isn't. Once the pandemic throes are mitigated, and nobody has any money, all those "goodies" folks bought for far more than they were worth (but according to some, exactly right in price) are going to be required to excrete more money to pay dump fees.

The value was in the eye of the purchaser at the time of purchase, and all the above is horsey poop/opinion. You wanna argue, go over to the Club Car and haggle with the Liberals. Bye.
