Interesting that there is a slider pickup mounted to the frame to the opposite side.

People will put more popular brand names in front of lesser known brand names as it will hit more categories under model trains so it will receive more views then just Brass Trains title.Such as Lionel- MTH
PS: that is one fugly Hudson not even worthy of a doorstop status!

I see nothing wrong with his ad - but I agree with Jon: this one does not rise to doorstop status. Mechanism may have Scale Craft parts, but the rest is low to medium scratch built. Either somebody has been misled by the ad, or there are some truly "in the dark" bidders out there. Some of the solder joints have given up - easier to start over!

The frame appears to be from a 1935 or later Scalecraft Hudson .

Without hands and eyes on, it is a SC Hudson underneath at Burner says. The cab roof looks like a separate part....the running boards are held on by brackets and round head screws....no feedwater heater in the top of the smokebox....somebody used a SC chassis and underpinnings. I don't think I've seen firebox butterflies before. Third rail pickups, wires run willy-nilly. Current bid of six is $292.82. For an original and unmolested SC Hudson, out of my price range by a whole bunch. For a parts loco, stupid pricing.

Don't forget - I am the guy who just freelanced an SP Berk, not to mention an SD -6 1/2 and a 2-10-0. Fantasy models are ok with me, but this workmanship is not quite up to my admittedly low standards.

I can forgive the workmanship (which is likely, way better than I could do), but the fantasy CRAP is a waste of time (in my estimation).
