Jon, Gary kept telling me it was one of their best models. I've never been attracted to the thing, but most streamliners leave me cold.
I think Will makes a great point about the sheet metal being almost impossible to reproduce.
Hobo Jungle
The die cast models have a dense perfect inpenetrable hardness to the shells. This is hard to describe, but the engines just aren't as flat as the models depict them.
I agree. There is just something about the diecast shell that gives it a dense look with no crispness.

Jon, I'll have that drink now. What a day!! Included a stint in Home Depot hell. Two and a half hours to cut and thread 6 pieces of black pipe. The kid, who it turned out was up at 4:30 and worked a full day before coming in to the Depot at seven, cut them all and threaded them before he realized the machine's teeth were all loose and he had to redo them all. By then he was flustered and next to useless. He spent 15 minutes just looking for a china marker and the threader was spewing oil everywhere.
