BMW just announced they'll produce an electric Mini Cooper in 2019...I wonder if they'll make a upgrade/retrofit kit for the one I have now???

They already manufacture/sell this, so it seems not a stretch to re-wrinkle the sheet-metal/composites to come up with Mini version:

Surely you jest re: retrofit...

The black Beemer looks like it's suffering in there, struggling to get itself free of that orange load around it.

Why are there so many Maseratis on the road now? Have they become the trendy look at me car?

I think you are right about that, judging from what I have seen escalating here in the NJ-NYC area. Even the owner-manager of a local restaurant got one and parks it outside his delivery door. Good for him! I suppose.

I think they sort of went down market about ten years ago, sort of like what Packard did towards the end of the depression. Didn't work for Packard but the Trident has become a subsidiary property so it might work out okay for them. At least they're not rebranding Chrysler's any more!

Two days of rain gave us a blissful Sunday of bright sun and low humidity. Headed out for a quick loop through the countryside this morning:

Start at ~$71k up to ~$162k........the low end model being about double what a new Outback would cost me.

Some people just love their rust buckets.

Case in point, 1955 Ford F100 spotted parked at Tucson Estates Donut Shop.
