I believe the swank interior above is a former SP lounge car. They also have Ex UP National Command Pullman. The tracks they are on used to be outside and track #1 of 29 platforms between the UP and Burlington station to the south. Before it was enclosed Current UP executive E # 950 sat on static display. I have sat in that cab for many an hour and imagined in 1979 1980.
844 will be here for the CWS and we shall see what we can do for pics then.
What kind of trucks belong on the trolley? I know Ruf is busy rolling in a pile of parts right now as I would be too but I get to go form up steps today and tomorrow. Yeah

As a kid of 12 to 15 I and friends would drive ,ride our bikes downtown and across the decked UP river bridge and disappear into the CB yards headed for the old UP commissary at Fox Park where the remaining passenger cars were stored. I joined the UP Drum and Bugle corps just to get the first class trip every year to Cheyenne Frontier days. We got to live in the Pullmans for a week at a time and UP spared no expense feeding us Mr Dean was the best. Walter Dean Lived down the street from us across Paxton Blvd. and was in charge of the commissary at the time.
1980 or 81 Our regular trip was extended to include Salt Lake City and we spent 21 night and days on the railroads Pullmans mostly the Sun series sleepers and some Western cars. Most of my old friends form then have no real Idea how lucky we were to get this experience. I have been hooked on passenger cars ever since.
The railroads security apparatus is the only thing preventing me from posting more pics. Try as they might I seem to get the access somehow

Does that equipment make ties for rails, or does it carry poles for erecting to hold trolley lines, I wonder. (It's enjoyable seeing contraptions so antique that I have no certain idea of what their actual function is.)

I bet that those are poles for the overhead.

Another neat work motor photo that I will store away for future possibilities. Like those metal hinged drop sides - somewhere I have some very small working hinges (USH? PSC?) that might serve for modeling such a detail.

I'm going to guess they were, likely, handmade by a group in a machine shop somewhere within the company.
