Rufus,
Why are the trolleys mounted as they are and what is meant by motor car in this case?

The Dillsburg line of the CVRR was also a steam line so the poles are off-set to the wire that is not centered over the track keeping the wire clear of the steam line stacks.

It's an old Jackson & Sharp combine that they added traction motors to making it a motor car. Usually ran with a trailer car....

Rufus,
Do you have or are you going to build a model of this? I suspect that the pole would have to be centered on the roof centerline to function properly in most model environments. A brass tubing socket for a 2-56 screw on the pole would work well and be almost hidden when not in use.

Not yet. I need to find some more photos and parts...............and a big bucket of time.

Look at that end railing - next photo will hi-lite some more details. I wonder if one of those Beaver Creek Old Time cars might serve as a starting point - hope I see one in Chicago so I look into that up close - Ok, I hate the idea of bashing a car of that price tag.....but if it comes to that.... I don't think a La belle car will do vs. just scratchbuilding this car so not worth that route either.

No idea on the pole issue and its off-set working with off-set overhead.

I notice the bike rider knows to approach those trolley trax on the perpendicular, not at an angle nor parallel. (I remember those days of daring to try.)

Yes, tragic actually. Young Jackie Gordon.

You'll note he's not looking where he's going. He was run over by a oncoming goat car just beyond the picture and trampled to death.

The Aldebaran High Council's Internal Security Commission would like to see you for another meeting. Bring your own head bag.
