That neighborhood and the road configuration, like so many of the mill towns around Pittsburgh.

The view has not changed much in the following years:

Note that road going off to the right by the ESSO station in the old view and the traffic light in the new view used to be the north end of US29.

Both photos are wonderful, from my nostalgic perspective. Thanks again, guys.

Some nice views of my town's Main Street looking east, brings back some great
memories (both views).

That cloudburst on July 31 probably effected more change than the forty years or
so between the two views. I have two different postcards that show the B&O
Station, and the Ellicott City terminus of the trolley line. When they resurface in
my house, I will post them here .

As an aside, Rufus, is your card also published by Patapsco Pharmacy?
Take care,
Wolfgang

Think so, but then again not sure - not my regular RPPC wicket,

I know I posted a version of this previously, but this version is far clearer and actually is cropped from a stereoview card.

Early WM train...probably near Penn-Mar

Thereabouts....those stereoscope cards can go way back. I guess the collectors of that sort of stuff might be able to at least date the production of the cards, :?

The driver and passenger each appear to have one of those "duster" type coats on that seemed to be recommended for such travel in those days.

My son has a duster that I bought him for Christmas a few years back - I don't believe I've ever succeeded so well in a gift selection for him. These are interesting coats that just get brushed and then oiled to repel moisture and then are lined for warmth.
