A view of the wood floor for my giraffe hauler. I'll use the neck as a trolley pole and his horns a sliding shoe. I may try a coreless motor in this unit. Anybody know what size i should look for?

I am more curious about how and where the wiring will be done incorporating the giraffe.........
Once, men turned their thinking over to machines in the hopes that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them.

I choose to go down the pathway of removing the windows. Wow it takes me a half hour to remove one.

Might be what stopped the guy that started this process?

This assortment of files. I use the top file to make the hole big enough for the 6 inch double slim file. Then a the flat from the kit below. It also has a square file that works well for squaring corners. Plus lots of chalk. Home depot sells that package of files for $9.98. I dont think these files would last long with hard metal. A nice file is almost a thing of the past.

I guess that they can be found, but not at HD, and elsewhere for a price.
I have a few rather good ones that I keep close; eventually though I will have to search for new.

I want to light up some buildings with leds. Can i wire the leds head to tail and use 1 resistor for 2 light? Can i wire them heads together , tails together and use 1 resistor? or do i need to use 1 resistor for each led? here is what i have.

I hope to be in the middle of converting from 3-rail to 2-rail shortly, got an inquiry in about those KB Enterprises turnouts today, haven't heard back yet.

Well I think two who use it for full spelling of "Bob". I'm Robert with a capital "R" and then there is robert with a lower case "r" used by the member who started this thread back when. Hopefully all the other Bobs will stay Bobs...

Yes, best way to do it if you have enough voltage. Series wired White LEDs typically require 3.6 volts each plus the voltage drop across the ballast resistor.
Not recommended because no two LEDs operate at the same voltage. With a single ballast resistor for two parallel LEDs the LEDs are forced to operate at the same voltage and as a result will have different currents. You loose fine control of the current (LEDs are current devices, not voltage devices like tungsten filament lamps) if two share the same ballast resistor.
THE TRUTH
The rational for not using a single ballast resistor for parallel LEDs is based on truth... but in practice such a circuit works anyway. Since so many model railroaders have wired such circuits and reported it works well, I had to try it. I could detect no difference in brightness between two parallel white LEDs.
NOTE--I hate it when theory does not seem to work in practice!

I wired up a few buildings a while back with LEDs:
Worked for a while, but the wall-wart I was using died and then I changed the layout, which necessitated pulling out the wiring, haven't put it back yet
