Don't some of those older buildings get re-purposed and used anew for similar or new enterprises? That was the idea I was suggesting by showing those photos, that I imagined that building and campus being utilized in contemporary times as a place such equipment might be repaired, resold, and sold new. I guess I'm just quirky that way - my imagination takes-off when stimulated with something I hadn't seen previously.

Here's a bit of evolution of some structures in action...

The elevator and station in Lemasters, PA. Was part of the CVRR branch that ran up to Richmond Furnace and the area that I model as well. Interestingly, Lemasters used to be spelled Lehmasters on the one station sign.

Very interesting. Thanks to all and especially Murph for answering my questions.

You do know, I hope, that I almost always get useful and appropriate answers from the regular MTJ denizens.

That looks an awful lot like the Horseshoe Curve.

Tyrone & Clearfield RR was a PRR subsidiary; Deep Fill Curve was constructed back in 1856 and was a few miles above Tyrone at Emigh's Gap - smaller, steeper, and with a sharper radius........

Seems such a peculiar place to take a band's picture. They must have loved Nature.

You have the prototype photo now......clearly it happened and there is a basis for such a scene in reality. If others want to deny reality, that's what medication is for...........and that should not dissuade you from modeling such a scene regardless.

Oh, "dissuading" (how often does one get to use that word?) me is far out of the question. Don't forget, I modeled my little version of a temporary, whimsical, Pasadena/Macy's/Chicago Holiday-type parade for all to see (!) If I take a notion, I do it. After all, what is there to lose? :D

That overpriced & overvalued (by some) education leaks through periodically and gets some exercise......or fades away.
