Pete, yesterday, Roger, Scott, and I were coming back from Cabelas in Wheeling and a rat rod passed us on 28 expressway. Scott says he's seen this guy at local shows. I don't know what year or make the truck is, and couldn't really tell 'cause we were doin' 70, and he was doin' about 85, but it was a shortened dually, (with 4 individual mudflaps on the back), no paint at all, (Scott says he removed all the paint and just let 'er go au-natural), and no hood on it, where I immediately spotted the Big Block Chevy engine. It looked pretty cool for motorized junk, and sounded great barkin' out the headers and Flowmasters!

BTW, gotta love that Bulldog on the front!

Nice Universal Carrier...where was the show Robert?

The "5" in the yellow circle is the bridge rating, i.e. you need a bridge rated to handle five tons to cross.

Rhinebeck has been on the bucket list for a very long time...I need to get up there. Dutchess County NY is just a beautiful place.

If you have any interest in early aircraft Rhinebeck and it's museum are a must see. I believe they do a pre-war and golden age show on Saturday and a Great War show (complete with kidnapped heroine) on Sunday.
You begin flying with a full bag of luck and an empty bag for experience. The object is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.

I was up to Rhinebeck Aerodrome once back in the late 1970's when Cole Palen was still running the place. It was very rustic then, and having seen a few recent pictures it looks like it still is. That was part of the charm of the place.

Another great venue is up in Tramp's neck of the woods, Owls Head Transportation Museum just outside of Rockland, Maine. They have a great mix of vintage planes and automobiles, with numerous air shows and drive-in meets throughout the summer. Here's a link:

(Missed out on the MGA raffle...dang it!)

Today dawned clear and warm, much like that day fourteen years ago. It is, however, a good day to peruse the Mason-Dixon Historical Society's Steam/Gas meet:

The numbers look down again this year, with the rain yesterday and a dicey forecast for tomorrow. Still, good way to spend a Friday morning.

Hey Dirt...I know you're partial to International, but here's something you could get to push all the gravel back into your driveway each Spring:
