Summer seems to have come to a premature end (it was 46 degrees here on the plateau last night), and it brings a hankering for scrumpy. My daughter left a few of these in the fridge for me...I'm much obliged:



Wouldn't say it was the best I ever had, but it's cold and crisp and it tastes like fall...

2- rail forum has degenerated and died. I guess I am desperate - but I did not read all 20 pages, so assume this is a serious beer drinker's forum.

We call it the "Stearman Ale House" - one of the guys decided he would grow hops and make beer when he wasn't airborne. I discovered it first, while the other guys were drinking Bud Light. I made the mistake of saying it was really good about three Sundays in a row, then one of the Bud drinkers discovered it, and now the beer maker cannot keep a keg on tap for longer than a weekend!

For a stop- gap, we have discovered "Sierra Nevada TORPEDO" - it is almost as good, and way ahead of all the junk folks bring in trying to impress us. Another truly good beer is "Lagunitas".

Sadly, very few actually build anything anymore and are willing to share anymore. I'm in between projects wrapping up a few things that I need to write for the magazine, so they will not get shown here.

Serious..... Well, maybe an appreciation for something better than the mass produced swill that the majority of the country thinks is beer.

Sounds excellent! Also reinforces that Bud is not much better than a 1/2 step up the ladder from bear whiz...... My son will be making beer this year and has been growing his own hops and will be using pumpkins from his own garden. It could be "interesting", but he will certainly learn something.

Sierra Nevada makes a number of good brews and some of their best does not travel far from the brewery.
