Case for a drafting compass?

Not a piano key nor a compass of any kind.

It's a proportional divider. Pivot point slides so you can set the scaling factor to transfer from one scale to another. I have two of them. They have become quite expensive. I think my first one was $45 back in the mid 80's. Second one (because I lost track of the original) was about $60. They are now well north of $100. I did find the original, eventually. Useful tool but not an everyday tool unless you do a lot of scale transfers.

BTW, that's a really nice case. Mine had a sturdy cardboard box

Yours also has the older style (and much nice) half flat points, very difficult to bend/distort. The navigation version has additional scales engraved on it to allow direct read outs without referencing scales on the charts or calculations. Mine are more traditional with marks for "lines" or "circles" used by model makers/draftsman.

From the Weems manual

The Weems & Plath® Dividers are exactly the same as the
proportional dividers long used by draftsmen and chart makers,
except that they have additional scales reading directly in units
of speed or time.

Rooftop "selfie" of one of the becolorful.com Subaru Legacy image capture sedans with the corporate logo wrap in a 3D interactive image, note the "spinner" icon in the lower right. The distortions of vehicles lines and the roof mount racks and logo are typical of a stitched image.

Now, where was the becolorful.com Subaru Legacy image capture sedans with the corporate logo wrap in a 3D interactive image when it took the selfie?

Partially. Their Facebook pages have a bunch of pictures taken in Fargo and their home web page indicates they are headquartered there. I liked the video of the turkey trotting alongside the vehicle. You can enable the pan feature while the video is playing back, very impressive technology.

It looks blue to me also.

Perhaps you could give the common name and/or scientific name of the blue flower?
And identify the other thing in the photo?
