When did W&LE start using that grey and blue scheme?
In one of the above photos there is a bright red caboose in the background. Whose and why?
You are out of college now(?) and doimg what? Hopefully you are still playing.

W&LE purchased a bunch of secondhand SD40-2s over the past couple years and that grey and blue paint job is a former lease unit they haven't repainted yet. I like the variety of the various paint jobs but it is also great to see matches sets.

Yes, I am out of school now, still playing professionally, as well as working in a music store

Lucas,
Thanks for your reply.
I will probably never see those W&LE locos in Georgia and I don't travel very far any more.
Good luck in your musical endeavors.

Nice photos as usual. This one reminds me that I have a CLW high-hood GP35 in N&W livery that I have absolutely NO idea where (or even when) I got it. It is definitely mine as my name is on the box! :?

Dave,
Remember to run it long hood forward.

I understood SR & N&Ws reasons for running that way but never
understood why they stayed with it as long as they did except for tradition.
Thinking about it now, maybe that was a good reason since most
railroad traditions were fast disappearing.

Dave, Do you have a layout now?
I recall that you were going to 2 rail. Did you or do you still have both?

No, not yet.

I have always been two-rail but got some three-rail as I liked the units offered (such as the Flying Yankee) and had/have thoughts of two-railing them. And, yes, I still have both. Note, I just sent you a PM.

I was a little chilly up in Durand and the snow came in quick. Other than that day it's been pretty mild and we haven't gotten any real snow yet. I'm not complaining!

Seeing 5 trains an hour is pretty darn nice, 1 every 12 " average.
