I really enjoyed the first link. It made the second onekind of a letdown though.

The layout in the first one is awesome.

I very clearly remember seeing TV ads for Lionel when I was a kid. The one I remember was also a space age set but it was the missle car hitting the exploding box car. I wonder how many takes it took for the kid to hit both balloons?

In "Iron Ponies" do the trains the dad takes out of the Christmas wrapped box, then examines in his hands, seem bigger than the ones that run on the track? Is it just me?

I noticed that too. The closeups seemed to be prewar trains. Perhaps they spliced some older footage in there to stretch the time.

Yea, their bigger................... taking the cars from the boxe's reminds him of his trains when he was a kid....................... :wink:
