Williams RTR Sets

Postby chuck » Sat Jun 05, 2021 9:40 am

It appears WIlliams is jumping into the RTR set world. Just got an email from a dealer featuring these new sets. I don't know where they are getting the 80 Watt transformer from but the sets feature and oval of their version of FastTrack. Locomotives have TruBlast 2.

HO now features EZ App, a BlueTooth technology that allows remote train control via a smart phone. I wonder how long it will be before they start offering that on O?

Well, we've seen Atlas decide that it's time to do something before they die on the vine. Acquiring access to manufacturing facilities was a bold move, even if it meant doing a Faustian deal.

Maybe Williams decided it was time to stir the pot a bit. After all, they hadn't been heard from since the 8th grade picnic. The last time I paid attention to them was the introduction of their scale GG1 for around $150.

I do recall the Baldwin 10 wheeler freight and passenger sets from a few years ago that included "snap fit" road bed track and 80 watt transformer.
