It's something about Windows 10 not being supported after November unless updated now. In my settings, it's gonna do it in the middle of the night. I despise that message: We have an update that's gonna make your computer better! Yeah, right! What's really going to happen is that in the morning, before work, at least 2 things that worked perfectly before the update are not going to work at all.

I was given a laptop with ten installed. Loaned it to SIL for work.
But:

Took a couple of weeks and KILLED updates, and absolutely terminated telemetry before releasing it.
My XP machines still work just fine. Killed updates years and years ago (after the WGA fiasco). All the MicroSlime scare tactics about XP not being supported? They hadn't supported me for 10 years at that point. Never trust MS to get updates right. Never believe something from MS is "free". Brave new world, take our free upgrade and you'll be RIGHT! Ignore what folks are saying about telemetry, unique advertising ID, tracking all you do, selling that data off....but it's FREE!

Hmm. At some point soon (Windows 7 support ends in January 2020), I'm going to have to do something about the computers in the house. All run Windows 7 professional (64 bit). I like it. And I'm very leery of "upgrading" to 10. We have 10 at school.

Lots of hooligans around. Only aliens I've seen are of the illegal variety. Haven't seen a Martian since Ray Walston passed away.

Fair enough.
Yet, I still wonder.

OK. But I'll be careful not to fall asleep alongside any of them.

You'd be better warned to stay clear of Byram on 206 (speed trap). The only way a King book is going to get you is if it falls off the shelf and hits you on the noggin.

Not quite. You could watch the movie and have your brain drained into a small jar.

Still scratching my head over the upcoming sequel to IT. Other than to satiate greed, is there any purpose at all?
