Pretty pretty pretty this morning. Took a few pics on the way back from taking the kids to the schoolbus stop.

Shadow-line dropping with the early sun, with fog...

Image

Coming in the lane..

Image

It's only the fog in the valley, but if there's ever another biblical flood, we'll be good.

(For awhile. )

Image

Fog working it's way up the hill.

Image

Morning dew.

Image

Image

Image

And some work in the pines from the night before.

Image

And the homestead.

Image

I have many blessings, and I try not to take them for granted.

Murph, you and I know from where I came. I remember Wayne when it had fields, horse farms, and forests, and then saw the suburban sprawl and mall crawl over it from the East. Ever since I went down the line and found myself out here, I never looked back. A good place to make my stand.

Wait'll Hev puts up some pics from HIS new digs! Gorgeous. Absolutely beautiful.

Dirt, Heaven - absolute heaven. Perfect. Thanks so much for such a treat. You must take a deep breath of satisfaction every morning you step outside. May we look forward to similar views once the first snows fall, as well as of the first deep snow?

You were so wise to leave NJ and to cast your luck and future on the earth itself in PA. Though my wife and I have made handsome incomes from teaching and other sources, I am not fond of "living" here, esp. w/ the "Homies" & the "Hoodies" right down the road, ever at the ready to pillage and intrude.

Also, as you may have read in other postings of mine, I continue to long for the peacefulness of upstate NY and often revel in trips there and throughout Pennsylvania, my home state. Rides along Rt.11, and even along the PA Trnpk & Rt 80/81 are refreshing, and I make them often as I can. Next time, I can look up into the hills and appreciate that I know somebody up there somewhere having his own piece/peace of Heaven. Congratulations, indeed!

Dirt,

You're quite a ways NNE of my place in PA, but you seem to have a lot more open space and view.

Image

Here's my "view" such as it is from around the front of my place; woods on the other 3 sides,

The valley where I am is a lot more narrow,

D*mn, Rufus, I've got nothing on you! Gorgeous view, MUCH further than mine!

I guess I had no other message with those pictures than to 'seize the day'.

I'm back against the mountain on the other side of the valley and on the side that does not get the morning sun.

~8 acres out front that the Amish farm and ~30 around back and I mow ~1-2 dodging the black locust trees.

That's a sheep farm directly across from me - gets a tad ripe on a hot summer day w/o any air moving...

Yup! Carpe Diem!
