Mitch, I pretty much "winged it" with some graph paper. I couldn't see parting with the 90 bucks for the software! I plan on throwing down the 4 loops to start with and see what space, if any, will be left for some turn-outs. It was kind of a choice between idle yards or running engines and being an operator I'd rather use all the space I can for extra engines running on the layout.

Whatchu talkin' 'bout, Jon. The Atlas Freeware is a FREE download. 
Ya go to Atlas O, click on free software for RTS 7.0 and follow that, then in a few minutes you get an e-mail from Atlas with a link in it, then click the link and the download begins. I installed mine on the Desktop, but I have Windows XP2000. I just loaded it on my Brother-in-Law' new computer that has Vista, and I couldn't get it to put the I-con on the desktop, rather, we have to reopen the installer everytime we wanted to use it. I'm still workin' on that.
What's really great about the Freeware is, just like the MTH software, once you make your grid to the dimensions of the room and start plannin' your layout, if it don't fit on the grid, it won't fit in the room. Atlas uses the 4.5" center to center for all its track, but none of their switches back to back won't come out on the 4.5" spacing except for the #5 and #7.5. So those are the only two that you can use for a perfect crossover and still maintain your center spacing. Takes a couple hours of play time to get the hang of it, but once you got it, it's a snap.

Ok, Mitch. Now I've got a headache!!! After 15 minutes of fooling with the program, I still can't figure out how to enter the parameters of my layout??????

Andre, Ari sent the second one. Any of you lads know about this car? My father told me stories and every time I look at the model I can't but help think of him. His birthday was Christmas. Odd to think he's been gone for over 25 years.
