Re: Got wood?
The wall-mounted handrail is, certainly, an absolutely essential necessity on that staircase .
Re: Got wood?
Quite the cantilevered design...I'd like to see what lies on the opposite side of that wall.

Bunch of steel holding everything up?

...or ten-foot lengths of stair tread
Re: Got wood?
I’ve seen a few eccentric staircases. My guess is it’s steel with a tread slipped over it. Don’t know how they could possibly get away without a hand rail. Nice look! Probably makes getting that piano up the stairs a little easier.

That would make sense.

Depends on where it is - probably not in the US

We'll get our best men on moving that piano right away. Our best men!

Re: Got wood?
When I was a boy, back in the 50’s , watching historically early TV, I never thought the Three Stooges were one bit funny . To me, they were simply damn fools who wasted screen-time. I don’t recall ever being amused by them.
But, maybe that’s just me - I never thought Clarabell was funny either.
Whom did I find to be funny, back then?
Daffy Duck. When he would run from a foe, he would call-out, “Wahoo...whahoo..” and then in mid flight he’d turn ‘round and kiss the foe directly on the lips. Hysterically silly, to me.

Even then they were a remnant of 20's-30's vaudeville.
