As the literacy rate declines, you’ll ask yourself why the quality of life continues to deteriorate in ways large and small, and in almost every instance the answer will be: because people stopped reading.

This is looking great. Do you have windows to fit this, or are you building them from scratch?

Tichy work car windows were just right for this car and I had just enough of them left over from another project. Nice thing it that they come with laser cut glazing :!:

Hate building windows,

I hate painting windows, especially the 1:1 scale versions. I have kept the wood windows in my garage as a form of penance.

I hear that.........and only have the framing around mine to do -- painting even just that gets old really fast.

Looking good. The foot-rungs, or whatever they are called, add a lot of interesting detail. What are the small white "corners"? Are those temporary for assembly, or do those represent brackets/reinforcements as on the prototype?

Stirrup steps? Or are you referring to the grab irons on the end beam?

White "corners" are just as you state - brackets/reinforcements as on the prototype.

I'm referring to the five rungs going up the car-end to the left of the door/vestibule. Speaking of which, looks like someone knocked a chunk out of the vestibule frame...the MOW superintendent is going to be unhappy about that.

Just the grab irons, those are....

Not really; gets a diaphragm notch fitted into that and over it all,

Off into the paint shop, but now I have to look into the state of the decals.............that are "vintage".....

Probably applying a few layers of over-spray prior to any use is called for on these,

On wood, what do you use for an overspray? A clear lacquer? Matte, satin, gloss?

Paint, then overspray, then decals, then another shot of clear overspray?

Prior to decals - gloss. Prior to dry transfers, maybe nothing, but sometimes clear matte.

Paint, then overspray, then decals, then another shot of clear overspray?

After decals, either dull coat or clear matte; after dry transfers, clear matte.

Between color layers of dry transfers, clear matte.

Nice!
That a life will be spent gaining inches,
When this distance is read in miles.
