As the literacy rate declines, you’ll ask yourself why the quality of life continues to deteriorate in ways large and small, and in almost every instance the answer will be: because people stopped reading.

I have been in front of those 2 doors many times. That's why I say the devil made me do it.
We don't always make the right decision. However the consequences are the same either way.

If you end up in front of those 2 choices, you probably made a bad choice in the past.

Bad decision making is the hallmark of humanity

Well, at the time there was a 2 day event where it seemed to be one of that level, where I thought my career was dead in the water and that was optimistic.
But looking back in time, even that one instance fed into a very good outcome that furthered my career to the point where I could pursue just about anything I wanted to do professionally, and even to this day I'm still one of the leaders of my field getting invitations to write special point of view articles.
