True but the 2 R section seems to be the only place with much train activity.

Sadly it could be more; I moved my model building over to the 3 rail section where it seems to get more interest and interaction.

I'm getting close to giving up on posting any model related stuff on MTJ. It's deteriorated to being just a place for commentary on eBay listings and political extremism. Boring and useless.

I switched most of my modeling energies over from railroading to scale models (mostly aircraft but basically models of anything remotely interesting). I have to clear out the upper levels of the house of my father-in laws stuff to clear space in the basement (from earlier transfers) to be able to work on trains. Seeing Phil's work on vacuform and scratchbuilt maybe I should post on this stuff? 3rd rail makes about as much sense as anything else since only one of the models is train related (Japanese EF-60, 1/48 scale, full interior of the locomotives guts).

I can't contribute to it because I am 98% tinplate..Except for Healey36 there is no interest in tinplate

Yeah, if you're into trains, you pretty much enjoy reading and hearing about all trains, at least I know I do. Sure, I only model in 2R, but something can be gained regardless of how many rails they run on or material they're built from.

Completely agree.
I'm 3R but always read the 2R forum and O Scale Trains. Learn a lot from them.
I have always liked history and both sources get into history often when they don't mean to.

Which is why I'm encouraging all to get back to doing some model RR'ing and to post it up here........otherwise this forum sinks into total rubbish.

WASHINGTON — Tens of millions of doses of the coronavirus vaccine made by British-Swedish company AstraZeneca are sitting idly in U.S. manufacturing facilities, awaiting results from its U.S. clinical trial while countries that have authorized its use beg for access.

The fate of those doses of AstraZeneca’s vaccine is the subject of an intense debate among White House and federal health officials, with some arguing the administration should let them go abroad where they are desperately needed, while others are not ready to relinquish them, according to senior administration officials.

AstraZeneca is involved in those conversations.

“We understand other governments may have reached out to the U.S. government about donation of AstraZeneca doses, and we’ve asked the U.S. government to give thoughtful consideration to these requests,” said Gonzalo Viña, a spokesperson for AstraZeneca.

About 30 million doses are currently bottled at AstraZeneca’s facility in West Chester, Ohio, which handles “fill-finish,” the final phase of the manufacturing process, during which the vaccine is placed in vials, one official with knowledge of the stockpile said.

Emergent BioSolutions, a company in Maryland that AstraZeneca has contracted to manufacture its vaccine in the United States, has also produced enough vaccine in Baltimore for tens of millions more doses once it is filled into vials and packaged, the official said.

Wife and I were able to get appointments and got our fist shot's of Moderna. Second shot is for 2nd week of April. Total time from our door to back home was one hour. About 15 minutes travel time each way. Actual time getting vaccinated was about 5 minutes. We were at a local 2 year college that is known for its culinary arts program. About 10 minutes to get checked in and a 15 minute wait afterward in one of the lecture halls. Everyone wore masks and was very professional/courteous. EZPZ. Arm's were a little sore, typical for a flu shot, maybe one more day of discomfort. Not enough to even bother with OTC analgesic. About 5 minutes of hot water in the shower and it was much less of an issue.

If you get a chance, take it. I just hope as many people as possible get the shot as soon as possible. The last year has been pretty more annoying than anything else. For a "war" this hasn't been too bad. Certainly nothing like my grand parents/parents went through during WW2.

It is extremely unfortunate that we lost 500,000 people over the course of the last year and that much of that could have been avoided if we had behaved better (royal we as in everybody).

My mother in law got our first Moderna shot on March 2nd. go back on the 30th for the 2nd one. I did fine, only had a little pain in the arm and only when I touched it.

The mother in law was a different story. She couldn't sleep than night and couldn't get out of bed the next day she was so sick with pain. Finally got up the next day and is doing fine now.
