That truly is a piece of art, Ben. The footprint doesn't look too terribly massive, but still, you guys have the space for it. A nice bit of work!

I make no pretensions to having modeling skills, so I've purchased some services. I have some of Frank53s buildings and just acquired a Dennis Brennan manufactured, built up version of Frank Ellison's Haphazard Packing Company. This is the second in the series, following the Ob Long Box kit. He now has a third one in process.

If anyone is interested in seeing the remaining Frank53 buildings from his layout, I can post some photos of the ones I bought from him. I think I posted pictures of the Ob Long Box I had built. Quite reasonable fees I thought (about $125 for completion and painting). For those of us with more money than skill or time.

Depending on complexity, that might be very reasonable. I used to do some custom building for others, but it very quickly ceased to be fun and became work that I did not need burning my time away from my own projects in my shop.

Yes! Kind of a running joke between Ben and I. Somewhere he caught wind of my clamp collection, so we have an occasional laugh about it

Quite a collection! I have not needed anywhere near that many; however, I do have several of the older large 5-6' long wood clamps with cast iron fittings that I have not put to use in many years. You get your exercise just taking off the wall and moving them into position,

I have some smaller ones that I at one time wanted to get more of until I found that the tool collectors wanted them a lot more than I did.

I'm starting to sell off my antique woodworking tools. Let the collectors have them. I tried to give them to the museum that has the other half of the collection but they couldn't figure out how to respond to my offer of giving the collection to them. Probably end up taking them up into PA to the same county and letting one of the local auction houses handle it. 200+ years of history and family there.

Haven’t been offered nor had the opportunity to build for money. Not giving anything away if I’m approached about it either. It’s time consuming and tedious and it requires a high level of patience. Combined with a certain ability to create realism(I find this to be the most difficult) Some of these kits are hundreds of dollars. Mt.Alberts strip wood is very expensive if you want something more free lanced. My hope is to move from kits to one of a kind builds.

Howard Zane comes to mind and from what I can tell he commands a substantial amount of money for one of his pieces. If I could ever acquire that kind of ability than I may put myself out there.

Mt.Alberts strip wood is very expensive if you want something more free lanced.

I buy strip wood in bulk; Kappler mainly, but some Mt. Albert, too. Also used to just buy boxes of wood at shows & meets from estates; "how much for everything?". Same story on Grandt Line doors and windows

My hope is to move from kits to one of a kind builds.

Healey, thought of you when I saw this on eBay. Maybe a little modern for what your doing but the realism they’ve achieved is pretty impressive!
