I hope that group never made any money and closed their operation very early on.

Begs the question. Are all these very clever and talented street painters invited to do so or just leaving their mark, like graffiti on freight cars?

I have no idea. These are very easily far better and visually enhancing than almost all graffiti.

Some places they are invited and some not.
I know of one place that invited painting of the fire hydrants
and got in trouble because it was against some law or regulation
for them to be anything other than red. :(

I know of one jurisdiction where they blamed the painters for painting hydrants and that the fire dept could not open them, so they painted over them with red paint.....wait, I think a small part of my brain just exploded

I live in that jurisdiction. A lot of that street art comes from the EU. To much red tape in the USA. Imagine what would happen if somebody slipped on that pizza?

That's one reason I asked. Unlike most graffiti, this art form takes a little time to apply. You'd think in the USA some self-righteous individual would be snapping photos for the police or even summoning them during the event. :(

Sadly, we have too many people ruled by their personal biases and prejudices, and self-interests that promote their own brands of hatred. Of course, some people have no appreciation for any "art" that they disappove of or cannot/will not understand. Steel trap minds - closed and rusted.

Now that's impressive!
Once I built a railroad, I made it run,
Made it race against time.
Once I built a railroad, now it's done --
Brother, can you spare a dime?
