All we've been doing to trying to find a way to make it worse by ignoring or refusing to do what should have been done and what should be done now.

What steps should be taken now? Is there a middle ground between going back into stay-at-home ("lockdown") and reopen everything ("release the kraken")? It seems to me we've been operating on an open-up-just-enough-so-as-not-too-overwhelm-the-ICUs plan (if that's a plan). Apparently some jurisdictions hit the gas too soon, or maybe they bought into the it'll-be-gone-by-April theory of El Presidente (new title for the chief executive in line with our collapse into a banana republic). I don't know...Marylanders seem to be remaining relatively disciplined in the face of this thing, masks and social distancing, so maybe that's the difference.

It's painfully clear to even the blindest of sheep that reopening has caused a complete meltdown in some states and that others are close behind in the race to achieve total healthcare system collapse.

Yet, states continue forward as if it has not happened. Disney opens in the middle of one of the worse hit areas! WTF!

How about stopping? Hit the pause button? Require masks? Back up a phase or 2? Maybe even follow any of the guidelines?

Yes, MD and VA seem to be achieving a steady state - neutral.

Well, I went to my dentist, this morning, for some continued serious work, which meant he was crawling around in there for approx. 3/4 hr. I had to wait in the car until I was called to enter the office, and the first action taken by staff upon my entrance was to take my temp with one of those "guns" aimed at the forehead (97.5 temp) . So let's see if I remain well.

Just goes to show that there are a lot of very ignorant people. Maybe a lot of them will get sick from a fake virus between now and Nov.

Not a problem. None of this is actually hard to do and just doing the basic stuff will go a very long ways on combating this situation.

That by itself is the perplexing part of the entire thing -- the response and actions are simple, yet all too many want to deny it's real and protect themselves and the people around them rather than endangering everyone.

If this virus had happened in the 50's/60's/70's and remove the fact we have better drugs, testing and healthcare today, do you think those people would have acted as irresponsible as many do today? Have to leave out leadership as well, just talking about the general population and the level of responsibility I "thought" we had back then. Maybe the Pandora's Box of too much media today, social and commercial, makes any comparison impossible. But, it's an interesting thought.

Don't think so, at least in the 50's People were different in their attitudes then and polio was very real. People also banded together for a common cause much more readily. Things changed in the late 60's-70's when it became evident that trust between Gov't and people was broken.

If you are leaving out leadership, you have to leave out media as well. Both are completely different in different eras.
