It was not humor, but art. You've obviously missed the point and chosen to chase after something not even present; Hunin & Munin.....

I can think of a whole bunch of things done as "art" or for art that were unfortunate, in their intention, in their execution , and in their result , open as all art is to interpretation by the viewer . That's what art is , an effort to reach and communicate with others, isn't it. Every artist knows he cannot predict or control those interpretations. As an example, I refer you to the Mona Lisa.

I'll refer you then to the works of Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Piet Mondrian, Joan Miró, Georges Braque, Victor Vasarely, and countless others that have influenced our lives, all too often w/o your ever knowing.

Bravo. That's all fine with me. I'll Google 'em all and, likely, enjoy the ride, experiencing what you recommend out of the entire history and experience of The Arts.

And regarding that I would "jump to something dark" (assuming you're not being particularly ironic in your use of "dark"), the artist was deliberate in his interpretation , not a victim. That is, would the message conveyed by what you posted with that blackbirds/crows imagery have been the same if the birds had been: doves; flamingos; peacocks ; cockatoos ? (!)

So my interpretation was no accident, nor unreasonable , was it. Be honest .

Probably not - don't see a lot those other than the doves out in the farming heartland

It was a product of you and what you chose to see. I see crows in the trees outside off my deck and I think there are crows.

I see my pair of ravens that follow me about and I think, ah well, that's a different story, now isn't it.... I was not happy when they were harassing the red tail hawk out back and let them know to not do that again. They laughed at me as usual.

That's a nice story , much , much better to receive than being criticized publicly for something "dark," Bub.

"It was a product of what you chose to see."
Yup.
Thus, defined, is the entire world of music and fine arts, even architecture, too.

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." You've heard that before , right?

Ex: the Chrysler Building in NYC . What was its point, it's intended
Interpretation? It's message?
See?
P. S. (I can't resist:) note the use of birds' heads as a kind of stylized gargoyles. The message? (Hint: Google "hood ornaments ".)

Nice, some days. The day those ravens started following me was......and then being confronted by them. Well, I guess that settles things for me.

Oh more art for you -- Hans Ruedi Giger.

My first impressions: The last photo...The carnival weirdos . Next to last...Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.

The last photo was the lovely couple, Barbara and Adam Maitland, in the movie, Beetlejuice

Previously maybe a lovely couple distantly related to some of the lovely artwork, "Dogs Playing Poker"

Prior to that, my two buddies, Hunin and Munin, kawing it up for laughs

All are of course a play on the classic art piece, American Gothic, by Grant Wood

There will be more clever versions in the future
