You are correct in concluding that my approach to life is doing so entirely sober = not one drop (although I am considering having a little bit of red wine in a glass of Coke , from time to time).

Of course, I had to grow and evolve into that philosophy , given that weekends of my college-age youth were marked by some buzzing around.

Different things for different times in life, huh.

Indeed. But staying active and fit are important to continuing that life.

True that.

Ok, so you're a strict Hegelian then?

Especially when I am sober.

Happy is a Hegelian.

David Hume could out-consume Wilhelm Freidrich Hegel.

David Hume could out-consume Wilhelm Freidrich Hegel.

The heavy thinkers were all heavy drinkers.

Immanuel Kant was a real piss-ant who was very rarely stable.
Heideggar, Heideggar was a boozy beggar who could think you under the table.
David Hume could out-consume Wilhelm Freidrich Hegel.
And Whittgenstein was a beery swine who was just as sloshed as Schlegel.
There's nothing Nieizsche couldn't teach 'ya 'bout the raising of the wrist.
Socrates, himself, was permanently pissed.
John Stewart Mill, of his own free will, after half a pint of shandy was particularly ill.
Plato, they say, could stick it away, half a crate of whiskey every day.
Aristotle, Aristotle was a bugger for the bottle,
And Hobbes was fond of his Dram.
And Rene Descartes was a drunken fart:
"I drink, therefore I am."
Yes, Socrates himself is particularly missed;
A lovely little thinker, but a bugger when he's pissed.

But none of them could out drink a bear.

A man, Sonny Pumphrey, was approached by three bears in his driveway, very recently , in Waynesville, NC. He fought off one of them by punching it in the face and on its head. The bear bit him on the hip and departed.

Got to watch out for the deer in NJ also.

Deer goes through New Jersey woman’s windshield, lands in back seat

She was interviewed and looked fine on TV. She said she had a small wound on the right side of her face, but it was not noticeable. She had a great attitude, seemingly largely unfazed by the encounter, though well aware she was very, very "lucky" in that she was not killed or maimed. The antlered deer ended-up in the back seat of her SUV, due to the impact. And she had the excellent sense to immediately drive off the highway onto the shoulder, saving other lives and property by getting out of the way. Amazing.
