This should explain the pictures of Celia Sawyer

In 2012 she became one of the four dealers in the TV programme Four Rooms.[10] Sawyer reveals how she saw a Channel 4 advert asking viewers to send in snaps of their vintage treasures that could appear on the programme. (Instead of putting forward an intriguing object, Sawyer advertised herself as a curious collectible and emailed her own photo to producers) .[4] As one of the dealers on Four Rooms she bids and negotiates for the best possible price for the treasures on offer.

Now that I have done the research I understand the pictures. But I never understood why Roy posted the picture. I didn't know who she was. Could have been Roy's wife for all I know.

I can't remember the qualifier I used with "shithole" regarding your home, with it's wildlife problems, but it was intended as a joke. You must be aware of the amount of shit I take on this board, simply for being a Californian.

On the other hand, I was serious, and trying to be supportive, about divorcing your wife. I realize that may have seemed like it came from nowhere, but all I have to go by is what you have told me. You indicated that your wife fell in love with the house you live in. Does she care that the deer eat your flowers, that coyotes prowl your property and will eat your pets, or that you have an irrational-to-the-point-of-disabling fear of bears?

You're hilarious, Roy. The temerity alone is amusing. Somehow.

As philo426 would say: winner, winner - chicken dinner! 8) I know her from Shark Tank, which is one of my favorite shows.

I have an aunt who waited until she was well into her 70s before divorcing my uncle. I think it worked out quite well for her. I don't know the details of your situation, but my point was that you're not dead, yet. Still time to make changes.

You may have missed some of the things Murph has revealed about himself Roy.

Do you know how deeply religious Murph is? How he continues to serve God in his Parish to this day? HIs religion does not condone divorce.

Here is the reason why someone who serves God would not divorce:
16 For the Lord, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the Lord of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.
--Malachi 2:16 King James Version (1611)

Sometimes understanding old English escapes me. Here it is in modern English:
16 For I hate divorce, says the Lord, the God of Israel, and covering one’s garment with violence, says the Lord of hosts. So take heed to yourselves and do not be faithless.
--Malachi 2:16 New Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (1989)

You may have missed how much Murph loves his wife. He expressed that love in some very old posts.

The battle between Murph and the deer plus his fear of predatory animals has been somewhat exaggerated by our teasing Murph about it. Even I feel fear when I stand my ground in front of a vicious dog or meet a black bear in the Tucson mountains.

My wife seemed to have no fear of anything. One day she found a huge Hadrurus arizonensis on one of the VHS movies we used to watch.
Image
She picked it up by the tail and asked, "Do you want this, it is a big one?" I held my hand out. When she placed it in my hand it instantly started sting, sting, stinging me before I could grab its stinger. My wife taught me a lot while she was alive, like how much a scorpion sting hurts. Would you have suggested divorce? I loved my wife even more for her fearless attitude and ability to handle the most poisonous dwellers of the desert. (My wife kept a pet Mojave Rattle Snake in the house.)

We all think differently Roy. You see Mrs. Murph's love for the house as disrespecting Murph's fear of animals. I doubt that such a thought ever crossed Murph's mind.

First of all, Roy, I apologize for allowing myself to be drawn into such tiffs with you. Though I cannot readily discern, at times, ahead of times, when an interpretation or reaction of mine to various postings of yours may fire-up your jets, I will try to keep a closed mouth and to minimize my interaction with you, as best I can. Such arguments on a public forum may be entertaining to some onlookers, but having tiffs is base and common, a place I'd rather not inhabit. So, if it has caused you grief to read some of my reactions, again, I apologize.

Secondly, Wayne, as long as I live, I will never forget, and will be forever grateful for, what you have said here, just above, about my wife and me.

I stated , not too long ago, that I considered you to be a true gentleman, Wayne, possessed of great dignity . To that, I would add charm and integrity. Once again, in offering your explanations to Roy, you demonstrated what a friend can be, no matter the geographical distance of separation, no matter having never met in-person. Your presence here is a blessing to this forum. I will try, in future, to be more worthy of the fine example you set for conduct on a forum. Your devotion to the Bible is apparent: you have become part of it; it has become part of you.

Hyperbole with much jocularity....

We all think differently....

I have observed that many have rather bad luck at this activity.

You see Mrs. Murph's love for the house as disrespecting Murph's fear of animals. I doubt that such a thought ever crossed Murph's mind.

Or for that matter almost no one else's mind.

Absolutely correct, Rufus, on every point you made.
And I much appreciate your making them at this point in the conversation.

Thank you. Unlike all too many of my other personas, I somehow was able to transiently embrace a small sampling of brevity that has not passed into the event horizon........

And, not back to our regularly scheduled Seen In Print.....

Image

And why a chicken is holding a sign demanding you to eat fish is mystery and somewhat disturbing visually to the senses.

Maybe the chicken feels our eating fish instead of chicken will save the lives of his buddies.

And I do. I just had chicken soup ("Italian Wedding") for breakfast, and it has been helping me, for several days now, to come back from the brink.

"the brink" of? The abyss? Should not stare into that excessively.....
