It was @ 60 years ago when I saw the Warrior River Railway in the Birmingham, Alabama area.
I am not at all sure of the dates, could be later but not earlier.
I think it was using diesels then but I'm not sure. If this is the same railway do you know
when they dropped the electrics?

No idea, Roger. I'd actually like to know more about it myself - found that steeple cab on a table in Strasburg and snagged it w/o hesitation.

No. I think the one from you was a Gloor Craft or Ambroid wood car that I rebuilt the ends in brass.

This PRR hopper was a fresh build up from a American Standard kit. Last unbuilt one that was on the shelf,

Beautiful job on the Quality Craft covered hopper kit. I thought it was a plastic Weaver car. You spent some time on that car with sanding sealer!

Can't take all the credit on that one - that was just a rebuild the end(s) and some underbody bits and a few upgrades here & there and then some judicious paint application,

What it does show that those moldy-oldy wood kits with a bit of patience can be put together to produce a pretty good looking car.
