Cacti. They sure beat perpetual lawn care. Does kitty get into trouble with the cacti at times, rubbing-up and getting jabbed where she should have just passed by? How 'bout her feet? That's looks like pretty rough terrain for kitty tootsies.

One of my larger ones failed to make the transition to the outdoors this summer - ~5' tall Opuntia brasiliensis...... Still have the original one ~10' tall right now that I grew from a single leaf cutting started back in 1982.

All my cats have learned about cactus the hard way when they were kittens. Once stuck, they never get close again.

I have never had to pull thorns out of their feet (unlike the stupid dog my wife once had.) The only problem cats here have with their feet is hot rocks and sand. I notice they tend to run from one shady spot to the next.

At $299 ($150 during one of the Radio Shack close-outs) it costs less than many such cameras. That is good.

It will take a picture of an entire train show/swap meet in one photo.


It will take a picture of an entire storm cell moving in.


And, of course, it is an all sky camera for meteorogical or astronomical studies. Using time lapse settings, you can take up to 288,000 pictures of cloud or meteor movement across the entire visible sky.

That is my truck, somehow hanging onto the driveway, on the right side of the photo.

All the above photos were taken by pressing the shutter button on the camera. If I could get it to WiFi link to my cell phone, I could control the camera from my cell phone. I just downloaded a firmware upgrade that is supposed to improve WiFi connections (haven't had time to install in phone yet.)

I know little about photography but I remember being told to usually
face away from the sun because its brightness will overcome other things.
But I think I see the sun almost overhead and the photo is all seeable
with great color. ???????

If you give me an explanation I probably wont understand it.

Blue Cut fire in Cajon Pass

The fire caused a closure of roughly six miles of Union Pacific train operations, according to spokesman Justin Jacobs. However, no Union Pacific trains were not rerouted. But Jacobs said the Mojave subdivision would continue to monitor if any rerouting would be necessary.
