Fastrac with a K doesn't work.

We need Lucy to 'splain this.

No wonder people can't spell.

We've been doing it wrong to long.

Happy Christmas to all from Dungfield Manor.

Sarge,

Happy Christmas to you and yours. Just wondering what the "Heir Apparent" thinks of all your 7mm stuff?

Rich:

He likes it all just fine. Of course on his side of the cellar he runs a Hogwarts, and a modern-made LMS Jinty by Darstaedt (or my old Hornby Flying Scotsman) with all my old beat up Hornby wagons in tow on Lionel tube-track powered with a ZW and populated by Lego City, Meccano, Kenner "Girder & Panel", and Erector.

He's quite ecumenical...

Hev, mate:

Thanks for the kind words. We use Phastrak now because when we first did this we had carpet. So long as it's pretty close-pile carpet there's no worries; not sure I'd try it on anything like that ugly burnt-orange shag from the '70s though. If your's is good close-pile, it isn't a problem.

I spend more time getting the cat hair and dust-bunnies (the maid is not quite as fastidious as we'd like) out the gears than anything else.

Any word that starts with an "F" and ends in "ck" gets asterisked.
For example when the ck is moved one space left in " Fabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz ck " you get " Fabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzck. "

Nobody ever said censorship was intelligent.

Wayne, mate:

It's even broader (and sillier). Any word that starts with "F" and ends with "K" gets the chop. You can eat with a knife, and a spoon, but not a fork.

Such a misguided feature, all to protect the little children from a word they already giggle about hysterically in the play-yard by age 8. Bl@@dy stupid notion poorly implemented; heaven forbid the little sprogs should somehow be exposed to such a horrible horrible word, let alone be actually educated and actively prepared (to some degree) to face anything truly evil in this world.

So the average tiddler sits in front the television and sees murder, mayhem, rape, and deceit (all this during the mother's daytime telly, let alone what would be on "primetime"), grows a little and participates in same on any computer game that goes beyond "Make Elmo Giggle", but some idiot creates a routine to ban the word f uck and thinks it's somehow a service to the moral grounding of a generation. If that wasn't such a ridiculous notion, it would be funny as hell. (Can I say hell? Sure I can, it doesn't start with F and end in K))

How bout trying to ban "kill" instead, you anonymous spineless panty-waist wherever you are. It'd be just about as effective, I'm sure.

Rant off...

The play yard remark Sarge made reminds me of a joke from those days

Miss Prim asks the Juniors to tell her what good deeds they saw on the way to school that morning.

Up goes Little Billy's hand immediately but Miss Prim knows what he's like and would prefer NOT to be enlightened by his usual scatological observations!

So she asks little Angelica who says "I saw a pretty butterfly kissing a flower"

"Oh thats lovely Angelica!"

So it goes around the class until at last Little Billy must be heard. So she reminds him "Now remember Billy, it must be a good deed!'

"Yes miss, I saw a dog saving another flat dog that was run over!"

"What! Oh how awful. How did you know it was a flat dog?"

"Because there was another dog on top of it, pumping it up."

Not sure if any of you got to watch any of the amazing benefit concert for Hurricane Sandy victims, but here was a highlight. Some well-placed-vulgarity warning.
