Mitch,

Congratulations on doing your part to keep Pennsylvania the number one deer-car collision state. :?

Come on over to Gomer's, I'll buy you a beer. :D

Two years ago I got two at the same time with my wifes car.

Of course it was my fault.

But these were the smaller Georgta deer.

I feel your pain.

Mitch, did that once with a Jeep Cherokee. Punched the plastic grille through the radiator. Had 5 or 6 mini-geysers, but was able to limp it to a dealership.

Sons-of-b*tches. Second only to groundhogs.
Makes ya wish that cars were equipped with bazookas.
(But then, of course, I'd be firing it 3 or 4 times a day. Lots of a-holes on the road.)

:D

Hey Tramp, how about some stories?

Somehow, I knew you were going to say that Pete.

And, yes, I hit one once myself, in California, with a Ford Falcon. Only damage was broken headlight. I went back to pull it off the road, but it was gone.

Could be worse, Mitch. Father Joe Carroll runs the St. Vincent de Paul Village here in San Diego. He is a tireless crusader in providing services to the homeless and poor. One way or another, he had an accident last week and his car hit two homeless people. One had to go to the hospital. In the comments to the news website article, one wag noted "It's nice to see Fr. Joe is getting the homeless off the street."

I have to comment on this one Jon. When I was in boot camp, Gomer Pyle was a popular television show. When the drill seargent started yelling like Sergeant Carter, everyone broke into laughter. You can imagine how that affected the drill seargent. We spent a good twenty minutes outside with our noses against the barrack walls being yelled at from behind.

Then, we had to get brushes, soap and water to scrub the nose grease off the walls.

I am sorry to say, Wayne, somehow, you were thrown in with those with limited intelligence and the lack of ability to forecast the consequences of their actions.

My journey though USAF OTS was a bit more civilized. Oh, they had their methods. I hated running and there, in the day room, was a chart. How much you ran every day. So you ran. Lots of running. Other than that, it was like a regimented junior college with a lot of discipline. And they had something waiting just for me. Graduate near top of BOT class. Somehow make it through pre-flight screening without crashing miserable T-41 Mescalero (a Cessna 172 with yokes torn out, replaced by sticks with marginal looking cables, and tandem configuration) and first woman USAF flight instructor slamming my helmet with clipboard every time as I attempted to land it in a civilian manner with a floating glide (grease it it kiddo, she said with an evil smirk. It was my closest life experience with a dominatrix. I should have tried to sleep with her, but, then, I was naive). Multi engine and instructor rating in civilian life. On track for UPT. Math degree. Security clearance missing from DD 201. Can't let this boy fly aeroplanes just yet until the paper work shows up. What do we do with him? Executive officer (as a shave tail 2lt) of a prisoner control facility (PCF) at Lackland Air Force Base for bad boys and girls who just couldn't see their way through six weeks of USAF basic training without committing some infraction of UCMJ or civilian law outside the base. Somehow, I had synthesized the message to let the top kick (indigent NCO) run things and stay out of the way. I was his errand boy for pacifying the local DA. I learned to play golf, which I hate. It took another four months for my clearance to get united with my files and orders to move on to UPT.

8:10 AM. Broad daylight. 300 yards from the dealership. Silverville Road runs parallel to the Rt 28 expressway, and there's about a 75 yard buffer between the 2 that's just brush and small trees. Been a Pa boy all my life, so I'm constantly on the lookout for game, especially deer. I never saw this one comin'. Just as I got there, there was this brown blur comin' full speed up out of the brush. Smacked him with the right front tire. Wranglers have plastic bumper extensions out at the ends, held on by only 3 plastic push-pins. Tore out the pins, but didn't hurt the extension. Another guy stopped, and he had a 3 pound sledge hammer, and 1 short tap in the center of the deers' head put it out of its misery. It was just a pup. We reported it, and then I continued on my road test. Now, the steering wheel is crooked in the Jeep. Put 'er up on the rack, and found only the slightest bend in the right tie-rod, so onto the alignment rack. Not too bad at all, the toe was .024 and the steer ahead was .059, pretty easy to correct. I'm thankful there was no body damage at all.

Mitch, *whew*! I had a picture of you smacking a 200 pounder dead center.

It's when you come to appreciate the physics of trying to stop that much mass and momentum.
That's what makes me so aggravated with tailgaters.
And why I need a bazooka that points out the rear.

It was my closest life experience with a dominatrix.

Anybody else besides me who's not believing this for a NY minute??

I could not spell the plural of dominatrix so I had to change my life.

Here you go San... dominatrix (plural: dominatrices). Now can we hear about all your experiences with dominatrices?
