CCrider, Your proclivity for graffito came pleasantly to mind when I was reading "The Arts" section of the Saturday, May 30, 2009 New York Times. From that article, I learned that the French refer to it as "le tag" or "le graf." (Nice, huh.) They stated "the style of urban artwork was born nearly four decades ago on New York City subways and brick walls, influencing a generation of artists, self-taught...across the world."

I'm sure you noticed they used the term artwork, endowing your efforts w/ a certain cachet - a distinguishing mark of quality or genuineness.

"It's youth, it's movement, it's lively," said Chantel Helenbeck, who with her twin, Bridgitte, runs the Helenbeck Gallery in Paris. And here's an important bit of information for you to consider, if I may suggest, as stated by the NY Times, that apparently a show by them is going to open "in a multistory studio on Manhattan's far west side.

Chantal Helenbeck went on to say, about your art, "...they haven't gone to school [for the art form]. They are taught by life, and you can see that in their work."

Bridgitte added, "They bring a jois de vivre to the gallery." She went on the mention Crash, Blade, & Blek le Rat.
I have offered this info to you out of respect and to urge you to make them aware of your expression of the art form.

I'm very glad to hear you say "Will do", CCrider. Here is the address of the show (through June 27,) called "Whole in the Wall" at the former Splashlight Studios:
529-535 West 35th Street,
Manhattan

@helenbeckgallery.com

Brigitte Helenbeck further added, in the article, that she felt le graf had "evolved far beyond early tagging (abstractly writing a name or word in spray paint or marker, usually illegally) to more painterly and figurative forms." I believe that fits your style and personal expression of the artform on your model trains. I have a feeling they may be quite interested (thrilled?) to see your contribution to the artform's evolution.

Here's a final quote from the article that should suggest a place for you in their effort, it is my hope, "The Helenbecks plan to bring the show to Milan as well as to Stuugart, Germany, and other cities. Exhibiting this art now, when the economic climate sometimes mirrors that of 1970's New York, makes it particularly relevant."

Be encouraged, sir. I have a good feeling about this possible opportunity for you. Good luck!

I still have three undecorated 21" long Atlas Comet ll Passenger Coaches ( I had them for sale at the open house in Paterson NJ )
I don't need them anymore since I already have 15 (one of each number of New Jersey Transit Coach and Cab Car and the Metro North Maria Mitchell Cab car) and Atlas is again re-issuing additional new numbered cars.
