Well, well... this is right up my alley. Thanks, Frank.
Older photo to start: I'm hoping to take some pics this weekend of my recent acquisitions.
Here's my Lionel #258. It runs very well - that goofy exposed headlight looks great at night.

Frank, I agree you should post more pics/video of your Flying Yankee. I finally got mine per your recommendation, arrived last week from Trainz. I like the gunmetal parts much better now that I've seen it in person. It's authentic: the new repro cars mate perfectly to the #618, #619 cars from my Prewar Silver Streak set (279E)! Vestibules are a bit stiff, initially had some trouble getting 'em all coupled securely.
Bob, like you, I'm a fan of the 429: it's respectably close to a scale model. I have that same No. 19 set from my Dad:

Dave, great restoration work!! That's a super collection: you should post these to the OGR Tinplate forum too. I'd like to hear more about your techniques and what you learned from your Dad, if you choose to share that. Did you take the ends off the tank on the #815, or leave 'em on? I'm following your method for building my collection of Standard Gauge. Slowly gathering up damaged 500 series freight cars that I can restore.

I tried WD-40 and it didn't come off. Its like the sticky part melded to the paint. The stickers must have been on there for a while, they were pretty faded out. Probably sat in an attic and baked on to the paint.
GooGone, maybe?
Happy Memorial Day: remember our Fallen, who literally gave everything on our behalf. Please take time during your holiday activities to recall and pray for the many thousand men and women currently deployed from all the Services.
