Found this little ditty for 20$ from French river model works. Nice little plastic kit. Couple of hours from start to finish using a base coat of Aged gray and some weathering powders. Have no idea where it’s going but it should integrate nicely just about anywhere on the layout.

Got a small handful of 3D printed detail parts from an O scale vendor on Etsy.....neat stuff

But now I have to paint them all, I do find painting all the little fiddly detail bits a tedious exercise.

Great job on that water tank, especially the metal roofing. Is there a building lined up to accommodate it? There used to be one on the roof of an old furniture factory here in town. That's been gone for a long time.

Creeping along on the mill. I find I have to force myself to this build, which takes all the fun out of it. Every aspect of it is tedious and time consuming and parts of it require a machinists mind and skills, neither of which I have. The instructions bounce from, build this component and set it aside to build this component and set it aside. Frustrating for me. Here is the roller assembly completed.

Larger multi-component projects/kits tend to be like that and one gets bogged down while the kit takes over a lot of space and time.....one of hte reasons I avoid jumping into larger structure projects.

I like automated model railroads but definitely not in my playbook.

The instructions keep saying build this component and set aside. I’m hopeful it will eventually become a sawmill.

Beginning of an On30 Caboose I’m building from Silver City models.

I think it’s starting to look like a whimsical caboose! This is a whole different skill set than scratch building or kit building. Serious respect to PRRK4’s for the caboose build over on the 2 rail forum. Ultimately I thought this may see some track time but it’s so delicate it may come apart in the process!

That color reminds me of Vane Jones' ICC modular carside panels and ends for (mostly) interurbans.
