It's coming along nicely, nicely...

Basically were sheds on trucks - might be a commissary/dining car but doing an interior is still tbd.
As the literacy rate declines, you’ll ask yourself why the quality of life continues to deteriorate in ways large and small, and in almost every instance the answer will be: because people stopped reading.

Very nice detail work, neat and trim. Probably mistaken at this distance, but that looks like a cut-glass door-knob similar to those found on the closets in my grandmother's old house in Catonsville.

Thanks! Making those operational drop steps was "fun", but I had a photo of an XL work car that had them down onto a stair platform, so I thought they'd add something interesting to the ends,

Doorknob just caught the light right,  That's just a regular pin head.

Painted with trucks & couplers added. Had to repair a few windows. Still on the fence about an interior....

Looks quite good to me, especially the detail work. It's one thing to have a detailed underside, and another to have the detailed car-ends; I think having the two connected in a "functional" manner is one thing that makes it exceptional, at least from my perspective.

Now, about that interior...

I generally install a pretty detailed underbody since at eye level its absence is glaringly apparent.

Kitchen commissary car maybe.....need some details, but paneling out the interior walls is annoying to install in an assembled car; fiddly bits & fat fingers in limited space. Done it many times; rarely find it enjoyable.

Ordered some detail parts. So, once that stuff arrives then I'll have to dive into the interior with fat fingers, forceps, hemostats, and tweezers.....

Got a good supply of some dark brown liquid anesthetic in bottles laid in yesterday just for this purpose,

Starting to finally getback into this thing. A few of the detail parts being assembled and the main deck. I’m less than satisfied with this kit. I feel like I have to drag myself to it each time. Very difficult to follow, I discovered halfway through that I used the wrong wood on the roller bed for the planer. 2/3rds of the way in on the instructions tells you the count of wood and what each is used for. Shouldn’t that be on the first page? Yeah I get it, read through the entire instructions first before you start. I have the attention span of a cocker spaniel, the instructions five pages down are not going to stick with me once I start.

I also feel like the kit makers assume that you know exactly how a sawmill operates and what all the machinery is and how it goes together. Again the directions lack a lot of details on how to assemble the operating component of the planer. Hopefully the few visitors that I have will have no idea how or what a sawmill looks like and should operate :?

All too common a problem with kits......

Nice nail-job on that decking.
