Update about Model Train Journal forum

Postby Forum Moderator2 » Tue Apr 21, 2020 3:33 pm

I hope everyone is managing to get through the coronavirus pandemic unscathed, and I'm glad that this little corner of the internet can serve as a distraction during these uncertain times.

While I've not been able to spend anywhere near the time on here that Bill Lango (its founder) did, I want to continue his legacy by maintaining MTJ as a place for hobbyists to get to together and contribute to model railroading. One of the things that needs to be done in order to keep going is to update the software that runs the forum and site and transfer to a new web host, with minimal impact and without losing any data or user accounts. I'll try to give as much warning in advance of any changes that may impact usability, but please know that if the site is glitchy or unreachable, it is being worked on. I hope to be able to update/upgrade using a copy of the site so as not to do any damage here.

Regards,
Lee

Outstanding.

Thank you!
As the literacy rate declines, you’ll ask yourself why the quality of life continues to deteriorate in ways large and small, and in almost every instance the answer will be: because people stopped reading.

Thanks for the heads up and THANK YOU for all of the hard work keeping us chugging along.

Yes, thank you for doing such a great job that is often pretty much thankless!
